This PR introduces project workflows, allowing users to configure
event-based automations directly from the UI.
Users can define filters and actions for each workflow event, and
duplicate existing events when needed.
### Concepts
Every workflow is composed of `event`, `filters`, and `actions`.
- **Event** - An Event defines when a workflow should be triggered. It
represents specific activities such as an issue being added to the
project, a pull request being merged, or a project column being changed.
- **Filter** - A Filter refines when an event should take effect. It
allows users to specify conditions like issue type, labels, or project
columns to ensure actions only run in targeted scenarios.
- **Action** - An Action defines what happens when the event and filters
match. It performs operations such as adding labels, moving issues
between columns, or changing the issue or pull request state.
### Available Events
Currently, the following eight events are supported:
- On issues/pull requests closed
- On issues/pull requests reopened
- On issues/pull requests was added to the project, including when
created in it
- On issues/pull requests was removed from the project
- On issues/pull requests' column was changed
- On code changes requested
- On code review approved
- On pull request merged
Each event type supports its own set of filters and actions.
### Available Filters
There are four types of filters that can be configured for an event:
- **Apply to** - Specify the target type: `issues only`, `pull requests
only`, or `issues and pull requests`.
- **Labels** - Trigger the event only if the issue or pull request
contains one or more specified labels.
- **Move from column** - Filter events based on the original project
column.
- **Move to column** - Filter events based on the destination project
column.
### Available Actions
There are four types of actions that can be executed when an event is
triggered:
- **Add labels** - Automatically add one or more labels to the issue or
pull request.
- **Remove labels** - Remove one or more specified labels.
- **Move to column** - Move the issue or pull request to a designated
project column.
- **Issue state** - Close or reopen the issue. Pull requests can only be
closed.
### Enable/Disable an event workflow
Each event workflow can be individually enabled or disabled. When
disabled, the workflow will be ignored even if the event occurs. This
feature is useful when you want to temporarily stop certain automated
actions without deleting the workflow configuration. Workflows of closed
projects don't run either.
### Clone an event workflow
When you need multiple workflows for the same event, you can clone an
existing event to create a new one with different filters and actions.
This allows you to customize how the same event behaves under different
conditions, making workflows more flexible and powerful.
### Permissions
Permissions are checked when workflows are managed, not when they run:
- Viewing a project's workflows needs read access to the project
- Managing them needs write access to the project plus write access to
both issues and pull requests of a repository project's repository,
being an owner of an organization project's organization or a site
administrator, or being the user of a user project. Tokens limited to
public repositories can't manage owner-level projects' workflows
- A workflow runs when its event happens to an item of an open project
that can hold the item's repository, unless that repository is archived,
no matter who caused the event, and applies its actions without further
permission checks. Pull requests are never reopened
- Changes show as made by "Project workflow" on behalf of the user who
triggered the event and don't trigger other workflows
- Only users who can read an item can put it on a board or move its card
The management rule is also documented on `CanManageWorkflows` in
`services/projects/workflow.go`.

Several handlers and model helpers skipped checks that their siblings
already perform.
- Only match principal keys when looking up SSH certificate principals
- Return no attachments for an unsaved issue instead of every issue-less
one
- Reject issue and comment attachments when adding release attachments
- Share one permission check for editing, deleting and reacting to issue
content and for comment attachments between the web UI and the API,
refusing them on locked issues for users who can't write
- Reject issue edits, deletion and label changes in archived
repositories via the API
- Apply cross-origin protection to the repository topics endpoint
- Return 404 for the repositories tab of individual users and respect
profile visibility for the heatmap

On GitHub, one can close PRs via `Fixes: #123` references which was not
possible on Gitea before, but now is. Verified fully that behaviour
matches GH and ensured no regressions for external trackers.
Unfortunately, we can't completely remove the ctx from git.Repository,
because the CatFileBatch still heavily depends on a parent context.
If we remove the Repository ctx, the CatFileBatch will become a mess and
create a lot of unnecessary git processes.

Replaces the SSE-based push channel (`/user/events`) with a WebSocket
endpoint (`/-/ws`).
### What changes
- **New `/-/ws` endpoint** (authenticated). One WebSocket per origin,
shared across tabs via a single `SharedWorker`.
- **Pubsub broker** (`services/pubsub`) for fan-out by topic, behind a
`Broker` interface. `MemoryBroker` is the default (single process); a
Redis backend is available for multi-process setups, configured via
`[websocket].PUBSUB_TYPE` / `PUBSUB_CONN_STR`. The internal Gitea queue
was not usable here because it has FIFO/single-consumer semantics.
- **Push-only event production.** Events are emitted by write-triggered
notifiers — `NotificationCountChange`, `PublishStopwatchesForUser`, and
the logout publisher — wired into the existing `notify.Notifier`
interface. No server-side pollers.
- **Typed pub/sub on the client.** `web_src/js/modules/worker.ts` is a
singleton transport; features subscribe per event type via
`onUserEvent('notification-count', cb)` instead of branching on
`event.data.type`.
- **Wire contract** (`UserEventType` union) is shared between the worker
and consumers via `web_src/js/types.ts`, kept in sync with
`services/websocket/events.go`.
- **Client-side periodic polling fallback** kicks in only when the
WebSocket cannot be established (e.g. proxy blocks WS, browser lacks
module-SharedWorker support).
### What's removed
- `modules/eventsource` (SSE manager, run loop, messenger).
- `/user/events` route and `tests/integration/eventsource_test.go`.
- All server-side polling for stopwatches and notification counts.
### Stopwatch multi-tab fix
The navbar stopwatch icon was previously rendered conditionally on `{{if
$activeStopwatch}}`, so tabs loaded before the timer started had no DOM
element to update. The icon and popup are now always rendered (toggled
with `tw-hidden`), and the start/stop/cancel handlers POST silently so
all open tabs reflect the change in real time.
### Deployment note
WebSocket needs the upgrade headers to pass through a reverse proxy,
e.g. for nginx:
```nginx
proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade;
proxy_set_header Connection "upgrade";
```
Without them the WebSocket cannot be established, and after 3
consecutive failed opens the shared worker signals `push-unavailable`:
the notification count and stopwatch fall back to periodic polling on
the existing `[ui.notification]` timeouts. Real-time push is lost, the
features keep working. The reverse-proxy docs need the same note (see
the `docs-update-needed` label).

before: gitrepo vs git packages
after: git package fully handle all git operations
by the way, use `WithRepo(repo)` instead of `WithDir(repo.Path)` to hide
path details.
benefits:
1. remove all unnecessary wrappers, developers no need to struggle with
"which package should be used"
2. simplify code, RepositoryFacade can (will) be used everywhere, all
"path" details are (will be) hidden
1. Storing "ctx" in a long-living object is wrong
2. Make the commit & tree cacheable (for the future performance
optimization)
3. Also fix some bad designs like `// FIXME: bad design, this field can
be nil if the commit is from "last commit cache"`

* #33893
This PR replaces a set of struct-based `Get` lookups with explicit
`db.Get` / `db.Exist` conditions in places where zero-value fields can
lead to ambiguous matches or incorrect records being returned.
The main goal is to make read paths deterministic and avoid accidentally
matching the wrong row when only part of a struct is populated.
### What changed
- replace many `db.GetEngine(ctx).Get(bean)` calls with explicit
`builder.Eq` conditions across models such as actions, admin tasks,
issues, pull requests, repositories, users, packages, redirects,
watches, stars, and follows
- use quoted column names where needed for reserved fields like `index`,
`type`, and `name`
- add dedicated user lookup helpers for:
- primary email
- OAuth login source / login name
- update sign-in and OAuth-related flows to use explicit individual-user
lookups instead of partially populated `User` structs
- tighten package property and Terraform lock lookups to avoid ambiguous
reads and updates
- keep existing fallback behavior where needed, while removing reliance
on zero-value struct matching
### User-facing impact
These changes primarily affect authentication and account lookup paths:
- email/username sign-in now re-fetches users through explicit keys
- OAuth2 auto-linking now resolves users by name or primary email
explicitly
- OAuth2 login/sync now looks up users by login source, login type, and
login name explicitly
- non-individual accounts are no longer implicitly matched through
partial user lookups in these flows
This should reduce the risk of incorrect account matches and make query
behavior more predictable across the codebase.

Parse `Co-authored-by:` trailers from commit messages and surface
contributors as an avatar stack across the commit page, commits list, PR
commits tab, latest-commit row, blame, graph, and dashboard feed.
- Up to 10 visible 20px avatars, GitHub-style overlap (6px first stride,
4px between subsequent), `+N` chip for the rest.
- Label: 1 → name; 2 → `<a> and <b>`; 3+ → `<N> people` opens a Tippy
popup with all participants.
- Names and avatars link to the repo's commits-by-author search; fall
back to profile or `mailto:`.
- Trailer parsing uses `net/mail.ParseAddress`, scans only the trailing
paragraph, filters out the commit's own author/committer.
- Drops the non-standard `Co-committed-by:` emission on squash merge and
web edits.

User-supplied CODEOWNERS patterns were compiled without a match timeout,
so a crafted pattern (e.g. (a+)+) against a crafted file path could
backtrack for tens of seconds inside the PR creation transaction and
exhaust the database connection pool. Set MatchTimeout on each compiled
rule; the caller already treats match errors as non-matches.

### Description
Replaces all remaining direct `gopkg.in/yaml.v3` imports with
`go.yaml.in/yaml/v4` across models, modules, routers, services, and
integration tests. `gopkg.in/yaml.v3` moves from a direct to an indirect
dependency in `go.mod`.
#### API compatibility
The yaml.Node type, node.Kind/node.Content traversal style
(modules/markup/markdown/convertyaml.go), and the
UnmarshalYAML(*yaml.Node) interface signature
(modules/optional/serialization.go) are all preserved in v4 — no
call-site changes were required beyond the import path.

Use shared repo permission resolution for Actions task users in issue
label remove and clear paths, and add a regression test for deleting
issue labels with a Gitea Actions token.
This fixes issue label deletion when the request is authenticated with a
Gitea Actions token.
Fixes#37011
The bug was that the delete path re-resolved repository permissions
using the normal user permission helper, which does not handle Actions
task users. As a result, `DELETE
/api/v1/repos/{owner}/{repo}/issues/{index}/labels/{id}` could return
`500` for Actions tokens even though label listing and label addition
worked.

Maybe fix#32018
- Use `gitrepo.GetMergeBase` method instead of other two
implementations.
- Add `FetchRemoteCommit` so that we don't need to add many `remote` to
the git repository to avoid possible git lock conflicts. A lock will
start when invoke the function, it will be invoked when cross-repository
comparing. The head repository will fetch the base repository's base
commit id. In most situations, it should lock the fork repositories so
that it should not become a bottleneck.
- Improve `GetCompareInfo` to remove unnecessarily adding remote.
- Remove unnecessary parameters of `SignMerge`.

## Problem
When CODEOWNERS automatically assigns reviewers to a pull request, the
timeline incorrectly shows the PR author as the one who requested the
review (e.g., "PR_AUTHOR requested review from CODE_OWNER"). This is
misleading since the action was triggered automatically by CODEOWNERS
rules, not by the PR author.
## Solution
Store CODEOWNERS attribution in comment metadata instead of changing the
doer user:
- Add `SpecialDoerName` field to `CommentMetaData` struct (value:
`"CODEOWNERS"` for CODEOWNERS-triggered requests)
- Pass `isCodeOwners=true` to `AddReviewRequest` and
`AddTeamReviewRequest` functions
- Template can check this metadata to show appropriate attribution

The PR will not correct the wrong numbers automatically.
There is a cron task `check_repo_stats` which will be run when Gitea
start or midnight. It will correct the numbers.
This PR moved the creation of pushing comments before pull request
mergeable checking. So that when the pull request status changed, the
comments should have been created.

Partially fix#32018
`git config` and `git remote` write operations create a temporary file
named `config.lock`. Since these operations are not atomic, they must
not be run in parallel. If two requests attempt to modify the same
repository concurrently—such as during a compare operation—one may fail
due to the presence of an existing `config.lock` file.
In cases where `config.lock` is left behind due to an unexpected program
exit, a global lock mechanism could allow us to safely remove the stale
lock file when a related error is detected. While this behavior is not
yet implemented in this PR, it is planned for a future enhancement.

This PR fixes a state de-synchronization bug with the issue stopwatch,
it resolves the issue by replacing the ambiguous `/toggle` endpoint
with two explicit endpoints: `/start` and `/stop`.
- The "Start timer" button now exclusively calls the `/start` endpoint.
- The "Stop timer" button now exclusively calls the `/stop` endpoint.
This ensures the user's intent is clearly communicated to the server,
eliminating the state inconsistency and fixing the bug.

changed files. But it's not always right when push a merged commit. This
PR reverted the logic in #33744 and will always get the PR's changed
files and get code owners.
Fix#33490
