Registration approval runs on the node the writer replaces. A policy
reload approves nothing, and a map request only when its announced
routes change, so neither re-grants a route an admin revoked.
A router that reconnects joins as a standby; one that kept its session
takes its routes back once available again, as on Tailscale. Both the
global and the via election use it, in place of anti-flap stickiness.
Recompute via elections on health changes and check online state and expiry.
With no available router, retain the previous primary or lowest-ID approver;
exclude routers the prober marked unreachable.
A router holding the other's route for its docker subnet in table 52
cannot be reattached: docker resolves the gateway through tailscale0.
Replaces the phase 4a wait that covered one case of it.
Only a key that speaks for a tagged node re-authenticates it: a tagged
key, or one of the user it was tagged from. Another user's key or login
adds that user's own device, or only wakes the node under its node key.
Fixes ANT-2026-AWGRB7O1
Every client version gets a certificate from Pebble through rfc2136 and
a TSIG-checked DNS server in the test process, then runs each serve
mode; identity headers name the requesting user.
Updates #2137
Updates #1921
API keys, pre-auth keys and OAuth clients/tokens share one table and verify
path. Secrets carry 256 bits of crypto/rand entropy, so a SHA-256 digest
needs no stretching; bcrypt/argon2id rows rehash on use until 0.32.
The interstitial was the body of /oidc/callback, the URL carrying the
single-use code, so any reload re-entered the spent exchange. Redirect to
GET /register/confirm/{auth_id}, also missing from the route table.
A deleted node is served a self node with no StableID, so Status().Self.ID
goes empty; TestACLPolicyPropagationOverTime must match on hostname instead.
Updates #3410
PR tailscale/tailscale#20646 changed the representation of DERP region
IDs from plain ints to a tailcfg.DERPRegionID type. This patch
requires that version of the tailscale.com library and updates our
code to also use the new type.
Updates: tailscale/tailscale#20165
(cherry picked from commit 79695ab51b)
Go 1.27 allows setting promoted fields of embedded structs directly in
composite literals, so gorm.Model wrappers go away. Plus strings.Cut,
errors.AsType, reflect.TypeAssert and one gofumpt nit.
Re-registering a tagged node with a different key discarded the new key's
tags and left a stale auth-key reference; retag on key change and persist it.
Fixes#3370
A raw coder/websocket dial and the real tailscale.com js/wasm control client under Node, both against headscale alongside normal Tailscale clients.
Updates #3357
Run the real operator in a single-container k3s cluster against an in-test Headscale over plain HTTP. k3sic exposes reusable building blocks (InstallOperator, DeployConnector, DeployEchoServer, ExposeServiceToTailnet, DeployProxyGroup); the test covers operator registration, an egress connector, ingress connectivity from a tailnet node, and proxy groups. tls-ca-baking.md records the private-CA TLS variant.
Updates #1202
Mints an admin API key and creates a keyType=client OAuth credential through gen/client/v2, exposed on ControlServer. Reusable by tests needing OAuth client credentials.
Sets TS_DEBUG_DERP_WS_CLIENT + TS_DEBUG_USE_DERP_HTTP so a client can reach hsic's plain-HTTP embedded DERP over websockets; the counterpart to hsic.WithoutTLS.
The new full-tree golangci-lint check reports issues the --new-from-rev
diff lint hid: nine wsl_v5 whitespace gaps, a prealloc, and an unparam
(setCSRFCookie never errored, so drop the return and update callers).
gocyclo on the central UpdateNodeFromMapRequest and an SA1019 NetMap
deprecation in an integration helper are suppressed with reasons.
Replace the gRPC client with the generated HTTP client across every
command: locally over the unix socket without auth (matching the previous
local gRPC socket), remotely over TLS with a Bearer API key. Output
rendering and integration tests move to the HTTP client types; the
transport changes, the assertions do not.
dockertest's bundled client builds against API v1.25; Docker Engine 29
rejects it (min 1.40), surfacing as a "broken pipe" that fails every local
image build. Pin to the daemon's reported version so builds use a live path.
