Kristoffer Dalby	357f34a778	state: send a node's DNS config with its own refresh ... Drained at dispatch for nodeAttrs changes from any policy, user or node update, and for hostname/OS changes feeding NextDNS device metadata.	2026-09-30 19:03:13 +02:00
Kristoffer Dalby	59f3ff12a7	state: classify map requests before broadcasting ... Each request is reduced to the narrowest change it justifies, so a keepalive or endpoint bump no longer resends the whole node to peers. Updates #3417	2026-09-10 13:06:13 +02:00
Simon Law	3aece65014	build: update tailscale.com to v1.103.0-pre.0.20260819232550-0e84b4a3a0a0 ... PR tailscale/tailscale#20646 changed the representation of DERP region IDs from plain ints to a tailcfg.DERPRegionID type. This patch requires that version of the tailscale.com library and updates our code to also use the new type. Updates: tailscale/tailscale#20165 (cherry picked from commit 79695ab51b)	2026-08-25 21:59:00 +02:00
Kristoffer Dalby	4cca63155d	all: apply godoc [Name] link conventions across comments ... Every Go-identifier reference in // and /* */ comments now uses godoc's [Name] linking syntax so pkg.go.dev and `go doc` render them as clickable cross-references. No behaviour change. Pattern applied across the tree: In-package [Foo], [Foo.Bar] Cross-package [pkg.Foo], [pkg.Foo.Bar] Stdlib [netip.Prefix], [errors. Is], [context.Context] Tailscale [tailcfg.MapResponse], [tailcfg.Node.CapMap], [tailcfg.NodeAttrSuggestExitNode] Skip rules: - File:line refs left as plain text - HuJSON wire keys inside backtick raw strings untouched - ACL/policy syntax tokens (tag:foo, autogroup:self, ...) not Go symbols, left as plain text - JSON/OIDC wire keys, gorm tags, RFC IPv6 placeholders, markdown link tags, decorative dividers — all left as-is	2026-05-19 09:55:22 +02:00

Kristoffer Dalby	fddc7117e4	stability and race conditions in auth and node store (#2781) ... This PR addresses some consistency issues that was introduced or discovered with the nodestore. nodestore: Now returns the node that is being put or updated when it is finished. This closes a race condition where when we read it back, we do not necessarily get the node with the given change and it ensures we get all the other updates from that batch write. auth: Authentication paths have been unified and simplified. It removes a lot of bad branches and ensures we only do the minimal work. A comprehensive auth test set has been created so we do not have to run integration tests to validate auth and it has allowed us to generate test cases for all the branches we currently know of. integration: added a lot more tooling and checks to validate that nodes reach the expected state when they come up and down. Standardised between the different auth models. A lot of this is to support or detect issues in the changes to nodestore (races) and auth (inconsistencies after login and reaching correct state) This PR was assisted, particularly tests, by claude code.	2025-10-16 12:17:43 +02:00
Kristoffer Dalby	476f30ab20	state: ensure netinfo is preserved and not removed ... the client will send a lot of fields as `nil` if they have not changed. NetInfo, which is inside Hostinfo, is one of those fields and we often would override the whole hostinfo meaning that we would remove netinfo if it hadnt changed.
